Movie 31 Review: Shaun of the Dead

Yeah okay, that was hilarious.

Review after the jump

"Shaun of the Dead" is a British Romantic/Comedy/Zombie Apocalypse (Trust me, it's all three) Movie directed by Edgar Wright ("Hot Fuzz", "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", & "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World") and stars Simon Pegg ("How to Lose Friends and Alienate People", "Hot Fuzz", & "Run Fatboy Run") Shaun, Nick Frost ("Hot Fuzz", "Wild Child", & "Pirate Radio") as Ed, Kate Ashfield ("Three Act Tragedy", "Late Night Shopping", & "The War Zone") as Liz, Lucy Davis (Original Version of "The Office", "Nicholas Nickleby", & "Sex Lives of the Potato Men") as Dianne, & Dylan Moran ("Notting Hill", "Black Books", & "Run Fatboy Run") as David

"Shaun of the Dead" is about what you'd expect it to be, the end of the world as the Dead rise from a transmittable (Usually by biting) virus. Those still alive try to survive. It's fairly basic, but what sets it apart from other Zombie movies is it's comedy and comedic timing, and I mean that this movie does it intentionally unlike some other bad zombie movies.

The cast and script does a good job of keeping you smiling and laughing even if you are seeing blood and gore being splattered. A fun ride is to be had with the movie, and I don't even like Zombie Movies, but this was fun.

One to check out if you haven't already.
