Movie 5 Review: Fresh Pretty Cure! The Movie: The Kingdom of Toys has Lots of Secrets!?

"Fresh Pretty Cure! The Movie: The Kingdom of Toys has Lots of Secrets!?" is a Japanese Animated Kids Movie under the "PreCure" Franchise of the Magical Girl/s Genre. So in other words, lots of Pink, lots of Hearts, lots of Flowers, & lots of overtly cheery disposition. Talk about a 180 from the last review.

The Movie stars Love Momozono (Voiced by Kanae Oki) aka Cure Peach aka Cure Angel. Love likes to try to be a matchmaker, is hyperactive, and loves dancing. She teams with Miki Aono (Voiced by Eri Kitamura) aka Cure Berry, Inori Yamabuki (Voiced by Akiko Nakagawa) aka Cure Pine, & Setsuna Higashi (Voiced by Yuka Komatsu) aka Cure Passion. They are lead by the fairies Tart (Voiced by Taiki Matsuno) & Chiffron (Voiced by Satomi Kōrogi) and together they are the team known as Fresh Pretty Cure.

I haven't seen the Television Show this Movie is based on, but the Franchise is known for trying to be a modern take on the old "Sailor Moon" Manga & Anime. The Show and this Movie was done by Toei Animation, who's record includes GeGeGe no Kitaro, Cyborg 009, Tiger Mask, Galaxy Express 999, Voltron, the Dragon Ball Series, Saint Seiya, the Sailor Moon Series, the Digimon Series, One Piece, & many many more. So you can tell this is a high production of quality in terms of animation. The PreCure Franchise's show usually airs along side Toei's other big children's properties Super Sentai & Kamen Rider.

I was recommended this movie by some fans of Super Sentai & Kamen Rider as to get a feel for this season of the franchise "PreCure". So I thought to give it a shot.

The plot for the movie is a little back handed as it's about Toys disappearing and the PreCures trying to get them back, basically as a backhanded advertisement for Bandai-Namco of Japan's products for the show (Instead of being Up Front about it normally), a lot like how the movie "The Wizard" was a backhanded advertisement for "Super Mario Bros. 3" (No matter how awesome the movie is, lol).

The Moral is about how important the relationship kids have with toys are, and how it should be protected (Basically the overall plot of Toy Story condensed and shown from both the toy & owner perspective). The movie is very bearable at a little over a hour, super fluff, but entertaining I suppose for fans of the show. The voice acting is okay as lines are delivered well, but nothing outstanding. Music is fine too, as well as art direction, both fit well within it's fantastical universe. The action is good, the lady heroines are pretty badass and have no fear in battle.

Overall, if you're looking for an okay fluff movie or looking to entertain the young kids (After a pre-viewing of course to see if it fits what you wanna show your kids), then this movie can work well. Also, it shows why PreCure is a nice companion with the Toei Kids Big 2.

The Random References were funny & awesome though.
